Before It Ends

Here it is
another day
and no direction
no map to follow
where I’m headed.
I wake - don’t know
if I can do it again,
but I’ll try.
Before it ends.

Words and craze
of chatty days
I’m spinnin’ away
reachin’ for the bronze ring.
Reachin’ for that thing,
want just one more ride,
one more,
close by your side.
Before it ends.

Here we go
hear the music spin,
you on the frog
me, the Prince, close beside
and the brass ring
in my hand.
We’ll ride together.
Before it ends.

Do you know
how far I’d go
to take this trip
to be with you,
to spin time into never-land
and dance a turn
on your wheel?
Before it ends.

Here it is,
another day
and no direction
no map to follow
where I’m headed.
I wake - don’t know
if I can do it again,
but I’ll try.
Before it ends.
