Let's Not Stop

I wrote this with Diana Krallís voice and piano in mind. She doesnít accept submissions or lyrics or music by email so Iím stumped there, but maybe she has a 5th sense and hears this in her sleep.

Remember when
we began to begin?
Me, light as a feather
when we got together…
I knew it had to be love…
Everything felt so right…
We fit like a glove.

When we kissed…
nothing was missed…
We stayed awake all night.
We made our own weather…
Oh what a treasure.
Baby, it’s all right…
turn down the light…
Let’s remember when… .

Those late night all-nights,
We studied the topography of love…
the climbs and falls,
afternoon calls that left us weak
to meet, to repeat steps
neither of us had taken.
We’re so close to the top, baby . . . .
Let’s not stop.

We’re a chocolate dessert…
No one got hurt…
Look at us…we didn’t preen
‘or fuss; and you didn’t care
if I made you laugh
when you wanted to scream… .
We’re so close to the top, baby…
Let’s not stop.

How long has it been,
my café latte friend?
Don’t ask, it’s always now;
the glow in your eyes,
the secrets we know.
Everything’s in place…
Above, your face…and mine below.
Sometimes we took it slow.

Those late night all-nights,
We studied the topography of love…
the climbs and falls,
afternoon calls that left us weak
to meet, to repeat steps
neither of us had taken.
We’re so close to the top, baby…
Let’s not stop.

We never needed to measure
the intensity of pleasure
that locks our perfect treasure
between us.
Remember when we started?
We’ve never really parted… .
we’re so close to the top, baby...
Let’s not stop.

(repeat as you like… .)
